Songs of 2021 Part 1: 100-51

 It must be that time of year again, since I actually don't have two dozen albums to listen to before the end of the week and I'm drinking more beer and working less than I usually do (this is genuinely how I tell what time of year it is, I don't have calendars or the internet or anything). Which means it's time for a music end-of-year wrap up.

 

Now the yearly custom that has now become an annual tradition is for me to count down my top 100 songs first, with the first batch simply listed without commentary. Since that might be a bit dull to kick things off (it's not dull for me, in fact it's delightfully easy and entertaining) I tend to start this off with a quick wrap-up of my worst of the year, so let's give a big round of wet farts to this stinking garbage!

Worst Song of the Year: BED - Joel Corry, Raye & David Guetta

Runner-Up: Breathe / Comfortably Numb / Money (Like a Version) - Ocean Alley

Worst Album of the Year: House of Lull . House of When - Alexis Marshall

Runner-Up: Stice's Satyricon - Stice

And now we jump forward several thousand songs' worth of music-listening (the vast majority of course doesn't get a mention at all) to my top 100 songs, counting down on this occasion from 100-51. Tomorrow I will count down my top 50 to number 21 with a little commentary on each track and what it's doing there. And the following day my top twenty. Theoretically the day after should be my top 25 albums of the year post, but I haven't gotten around to writing up any of that yet so that assumes I will get time between now and then to do so. But anyway.
